I had never produced prints, for I thought a print
could never duplicate an original work of art. However, technology has developed
to where only an educated eye can discriminate between the copy and the original. In many homes, an oil painting simply
does not add to the décor, and, furthermore not everyone can
afford to purchase an original piece of art. I would like my art to be
enjoyed by all.

Recently, I had just finished a commission and felt I needed to watercolor
something for me, for fun. I looked up and saw a herd of mule deer. "Why
not watercolor all the wonderful wildlife we see?" That thought was
the beginning of my series of collectible prints entitled "My Neighbors".
I chose to paint the animal itself, not in its natural habitat, so as to
focus on its characteristics. After the completion of each painting begins the tedious work of ensuring each print will be true to
colors and shades and matting the finished product. These 8 x 10 prints,
double matted, hand-signed, and limited to five hundred for each animal, are quite popular. |
